Process
MyHealthfinder is a website that provides easy-to-understand information on what preventive health care services an individual needs based on age, sex, and pregnancy status. We were tasked with redesigning the MyHealthfinder website in preparation for the launch of a nationwide campaign that encourages Black and Hispanic people to pursue preventive health services with the goal of improving overall health and well-being. The design process included:
- formative research and user testing to understand user needs and determine how to most effectively connect users to the information they were seeking
- reworking the information architecture to give users multiple ways of connecting to the content they were looking for
- creating a visual coding system using color and iconography for users to aid in way finding and connecting with additional relevant information
- developing templates for the various page types
- ensuring everything is accessible and 508-compliant
